West Cheshire College trialed ultrawide band (UWB) RFID supplied by Zebra Technologies whilst Zebra Technologies were on the working task group developing the UWB standard IEEE802.15.  Children at the college wore the active RFID tags, emitting a frequency every second to a range of 100m, from 2010 – 2013. West Cheshire College have no information whatsoever relating to this UWB RFID used to track the children and had no communication at all with Zebra Technologies, even given the fact the Zebra had filmed students and staff for the below video.

*Zebra removed their promotional video from their website Feb/March 2013.
*The below same video of West Cheshire College tagging students with active RFID was removed by YouTube on 8th August 2013 by request from West Cheshire College .
*The same video appeared in the Guardian article about the college’s RFID and got withdrawn from YouTube the same day, the article appeared, 19th November 2013, by request from West Cheshire College.  The video just below this one is the same technology, used on a herd of cows, by the same supplier, Zebra Technologies.

Here is the Zebra Technologies video, posted for the third time on YouTube, citing ‘fair use’.
